In today's health care system, there is a growing and dire need for the ability to monitor individuals movement while in a treatment center. Passive monitoring would allow facility administrators and health care workers to ensure the utmost safety for those that they are caring for. We are currently in the process of developing a system by which to track all personnel within a nursing home and derive whether or not they are in a safe space. This system will function off of a Zigbee (802.15.4) mesh network used to triangulate the whereabouts of those being monitored. Facility workers will have the ability to see in real time the location of all tracked people and make changes to the locations that they are and are not allowed to go. We also have the ability to define zones that require a patient and health care worker to be present and the ability to alert personnel when this principle is not followed.

Alerts are sent to defined administrators via email and also splashed onto the monitors of the computers tied into our system. Facility workers also have the ability to add and remove users with ease, including guest users that will be at the facility for only a few hours. This ability gives us an accurate time log of where visitors are.

Overall, this system will offer its users the ability to safely monitor the locations of all individuals within the installed location. We hope that this system will improve the quality of life for all those that use it.
